ADVANTAGES:

Receive your Pass for 2days to the Annual Show + 1 FREE Car Parking Space + Entry at a much reduced cost into the MARCH RODEO included into the above fees.  So not ONE but TWO Events!!!

LOOK AT THE SAVINGS:

A Single Adult used to pay $12 Membership to the Annual Show (which is now 2 FULL days entertainment with Rodeo & Fireworks both nights) then a further $20 entry into the March Rodeo. So that brings the cost to $32 for both events. NOW  the same single adult will get entry to the same events and only pay $24.

The same Single Adult without a Membership would pay for both events:- $30 (for both days of show)+$20 March Rodeo = $50

A Family (2Adults + Children under 14) previously would have paid for both events:- $28 Membership + $40 for 2Adults for March Rodeo = $68 and NOW you will only pay $40 in total.

OR without a Membership for both days of show $70 + $40 = $110.

Some recent changes have occurred with a change to members of the committee who are the contacts for specific areas of our operation.

Yolanda can be contacted to either answer your questions regards camping and NOW for all FUNCTION HIRE, booking of events to be held on the showgrounds other than for the Annual Show, March Rodeo and Splendour for as long as it is in Woodford. Contact for information on these events is via the Secretary Marnee Kent on 5496 1147.

Only positive feedback last year regarding camping with us. This year the footy club will be opening their canteen for hot food and drink as well as the groups from last year offering food. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Our days at present are just like summer really beautiful, glad to see the wind has gone, although it is nice to be able to stay warm at night with a few blankets.

The Woodford Show Society is gearing up in readiness for our campers again this year. For those travelling from interstate or overseas have you contacted DJ at Anaconda yet to secure your tent which will be ready for you when you arrive?

A choice of Breakfast will be offered by some of our local groups each morning and get you started for the day. During the evening and early morning hours each day/evening, when you are looking for something to eat or hot beverages to warm you through we will have others here to address that need as well.

The weather here at present is a bit fresh early in the morning but lovely through the day with clear sunny skies. We have been having some cold winds early in the mornings and through the night so make sure you pack some warm clothes and a warm sleeping bag or blankets.

You will be pleased to know that bookings for camp sites at our showgrounds will open on Monday morning at 8am.

We apologise for the delays and thank you for your patience. The link will be posted here on the homepage for your convenience.

You will also receive a message saying that we have received your form.

Please make sure you use the Sp11 and your first initial along with your surname ie ( Sp11TMarshall) as your exact direct deposit details so we can match up your payment with your booking form.

Yes we are having camping for Splendour in the Grass again this year, however due to a few minor glitches we have not been able to put up the booking/payment page as yet.  It is not far away though now!

PLEASE DO NOT RING OR EMAIL UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY as we are extremely busy with a number of projects all happening at the same time. You will only create delays and we want to be able to open our bookings as soon as possible.

We will be giving first options to those who camped with us last year and then open it to the general public from there. We will have room for more than twice the number we catered for last year so there will be plenty of sites available. I will post information as it becomes available.

Woodford Showgrounds is about 5 kilometres from Woodfordia, where Splendour will be held, with a bus service supplied by the organisers of Splendour. The buses last year came right to the front gate.

We have  organised for numerous food vendors to be on site for those who are wanting breakfast, late night coffee and quick easy meals, or a snack and possibly even food available at lunch time for anyone still on the grounds between Splendour events.

Plenty of showers and toilets and the opportunity to either hire or purchase tents at a cheaper rate than normal. This was instigated last year because of the number of interstate and overseas visitors who cannot bring tents on planes. We will have security on site again this year as well and a first aid facility. We anticipate our pricing will be the same as last year although we may add an extra few dollars if we find the need to organise a bus service ourselves. We are still in negotiations with Splendour with regard to this.

We are just a few minutes  short walking distance out of the heart of Woodford township should you need a bank or shops etc.

Once you have purchased your ticket for Splendour then you can go to our website and pay for your campsite with us. All bookings will be done via the website and you MUST BRING YOUR RECEIPT with you or you will not be allowed on the grounds.

There will be no refunds for people trying to book camping through Yolanda prior to getting a ticket for Splendour and then finding they have missed out. The booking page is not yet up but it will be ready soon so you can book your campsite.  We will post the relevant information so you can get updates from here.

Our biggest family event ever! Come & enjoy the wonderful atmosphere – relax and have fun away from the actual event site.

The Woodford Show Ball Is making a come back after 13yrs to commemorate Woodford’s Centenary Show. The response has been phénoménal with 20 ladies vying to be crowned either the 2011 Woodford Show Queen or Princess. The 2011 Woodford Show Ball will be held at the Woodford Community Hall Saturday 28th May with doors opening at 6.00 p.m. Tickets to this Formal event sold out in less than a week and it will be the 1st time in a long while that the Community Hall will be at maximum capacity. 280 people will enjoy a 3 course meal, live entertainment by “Brands Express”, watch the crowning of the Woodford Show Queen & Princess, Matron of the Ball and Best Dressed Yesteryear. And of course there will be plenty of laughing, dancing and prizes to be won.  Preparations are well and truly underway.

Entrants have been partaking in Deportment, Etiquette, Grooming, Latin Dance and Old Time Dance classes. Julie and Rachel from JPS Hair & Beauty have generously donated their time providing Hair Care / Styling and Skin Care classes. Loris Montgomery has been teaching the entrants the “How To’s” and “Don’t Do’s” in regards to applying makeup. Carol Gray and the members of the Kilcoy Dance Group have been busy teaching the Entrants ‘Old Time’ Dance and Frank from Latin Dance Oz  has been teaching Latin Dance. Assisting the girls with Deportment and Etiquette are Marg McSweeny and Jenny Thomson.
